About this Event

Are you a visual effects artist or an animator working in TV and Film? Ever wondered how to negotiate better pay and more favourable contracts? Need constructive advice on how to navigate difficult pay-related conversations with your boss?

This event is designed to help people like you learn how to deal with salary expectations, negotiate pay rises and advance their careers. There will be an exciting panel consisting of industry experts giving their experience in animation and VFX.


Confirmed panelists so far:

Sydney Padua - Senior Animator (MPC, DNEG), Annie-Award Nominated filmmaker and Eisner-Nominated Graphic Novelist will draw on decades of experience animating such films as The Lion King (2019), The Jungle Book (2016) and The Iron Giant (1999).

Sara Putt - Agent to many of the UK's leading HoDs, Sara will share her negotiating plan and checklist.

Michelle James - From Share My Telly Job, Michelle will outline her vision for the future of employment in the industry

Hugo GuerraHugo is an award-winning Director, VFX Supervisor and former Head of Nuke Compositing at the Mill.

Simone GiampaoloAn award-winning London based Director with an insatiable appetite for storytelling and animation. Simone will be our moderator.


Show Schedule

Doors will open at 6.45pm, and the discussion panel will begin at 7pm lasting approximately 40 minutes, followed by a 20 minute Q&A session from the audience. Networking drinks will begin at 8pm. The event is aimed at women, but all genders are more than welcome!


This event is run by the Animation and VFX union and supported by BECTU. There'll be free drinks, and tickets are free to members, however, there will be a small charge of £4.90 for non-member tickets.
