The AVU Want Paid Overtime at all Animation and VFX Facilities
We want studios to pay their staff for ALL their time.
Following the news that Outpost introduced paid overtime for their staff from the 1st of September 2021, DNEG have now also agreed to pay overtime for all work recorded over 40 hours in a week. We believe the time has come for all the other major facilities follow suit.
Framestore, ILM, MPC - to name a few - still lag behind in only paying statutory rights for work beyond full-time hours.
The AVU's Ethical Charter is clear in pointing out that a fairer industry is one that seeks to end unpaid overtime by paying workers for each and every hour that they work.
The demand for our work has never been higher and as we get squeezed to deliver more and more, now is the time to collectively demand that our time is recognised and compensated.

We are gathering signatures in support of paid overtime at the UK’s Animation and VFX facilities. Once we have collected these signatures, we will be presenting this petition to the facilities.
